Job Description
The Good Samaritan Society is actively seeking compassionate and reliable Health Care Aides to join their team in Magrath, Alberta. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Safely transport patients between care facilities using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Support patients’ mobility by assisting with lifting, turning, and positioning.
- Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, make beds, and ensure a safe environment.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery by cleaning and sterilizing operative areas.
- Supervise patients during exercise routines and ensure adherence to prescribed plans.
- Administer first aid in emergencies and ensure timely medical assistance.
- Manage medical supplies and ensure adequate inventory for patient care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 7 months to 1 year of relevant experience.
- Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification required.
Work Environment
- Setting: Nursing home and senior care facilities.
- Physical Demands: Be prepared for a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks and physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
